By its Junior Year in 2023, Miss Collegiate USA had evolved into a nationally recognized platform for academic-minded young women, drawing contestants from a wide range of colleges and universities. That year marked the exciting contributions of the University Choice Voting Competition, which invited the public to cast votes in support of their favorite delegates.

Today we pause, reflect, and recommit to mental health for all.

At Miss Collegiate USA, mental wellness is more than a topic—it’s a core part of our mission.

Through our EMPowered program, we host an annual Mental Health Wellness Workshop, offer free webinars, training sessions, and even a mental health activity book to help college students and young women build practices of self-care, resilience, and emotional awareness.

Our EMPowered Ambassadors (from the 2024–2025 cohort) lead community initiatives, peer support activities, and outreach efforts—serving as role models to spark conversations and break down stigma around mental health.

As we mark World Mental Health Day, we celebrate:

  • The strength in vulnerability,

  • The power of shared stories,

  • And the impact of organizations that integrate wellness into their leadership.

💬 On this day, we encourage you to:

  1. Check in on your mental health—pause, breathe, and reflect.

  2. Reach out to someone and ask, “How are you really doing?”

  3. Use or share a mental health resource you trust.

  4. Join or support initiatives that make mental health education accessible.

To our community: your voice matters. Your feelings matter. And today—and every day—we stand with you.

Sophomore Year

Miss Collegiate USA’s Sophomore Year in 2022 marked a season of meaningful expansion and intentional growth. Delegates from an even broader range of colleges and universities joined the national competition, reflecting the organization’s rising presence and inclusive spirit. A standout addition this year was the introduction of a Mental Health & Wellness Session during Nationals Week—creating a safe and supportive space for delegates to prioritize their emotional well-being. This impactful session encouraged open dialogue around self-care, balance, and mental resilience, further setting Miss Collegiate USA apart as a pageant that uplifts the whole woman—mind, body, and purpose. With a continued focus on leadership, personal development, and academic excellence, 2022 strengthened the foundation of a movement rooted in empowerment.
